Stream Team Volunteers Cleanup Elk River above Noel - Spring 2008
In its annual river cleanup event, the
Noel School Stream
Team comprised of Noel grade school students
led by Ron Howerton cleaned
a
large stretch of the Elk River, Saturday, May 31, 2008. The canoes were
provided by the
Wayside Campground in Noel and despite threats of stormy
weather, students and volunteers collected an estimate
400-500 pounds of trash.
After completing the float, ERWIA volunteers provided a hot lunch and environmental
“thank you” gifts to the students. A big
Thank you to
Stream Team and
ERWIA Volunteers. A special
Thanks to ERWIA’s Bill Miller and Kendall
Stephens for leadership of ERWIA’s education committee for this and other initiatives.
