Noel Students Conduct Elk River Cleanup

A group of about 20 kids from the Noel Conservation Student Club (Stream Team #1142) floated from Ginger Blue to the Wayside Side Camp Ground in Noel on July 13. They collected about 1 ton of trash on the 6 mile float. It was an interesting day of work and fun and the event concluded with a camp out at the Noel site. Along the way, they encountered a huge trash site on private property. Great thanks to the Noel students for their important work in the Elk River watershed and to their teacher Ron Howerton for organizing the event. ERWIA, represented by Charlotte and Bill Miller, provided a post-float sub-sandwiches and environmental thank-you prizes.
