  • Landowner Conservation Meeting – Tuesday, March 13, 2012, Pineville - ERWIA and McDonald County Extension will be conducting an informational meeting for agricultural producers on Tuesday evening, March 13 in Pineville. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the findings and recommendations contained in ERWIA's Elk River Watershed Management Plans, to learn about soil and water conservation practices available to landowners, and to hear the results of the latest water quality monitoring from U.S. Geological Survey's monthly sampling at the five stream gages in the Elk River watershed. John Hobbs, McDonald County Extension, will discuss the nutrient needs of pasture and hay land and how to get the most out of your fertilizer dollar and representatives of the Newton and McDonald Counties' Soil & Water Conservation Districts and Natural Resources Conservation Service will discuss available landowner cost-share practices for soil and water conservation.
