2nd Annual McDonald County Water Awareness Festival - Fall 2007

Over three hundred fifth grade students attended the 2nd annual Watershed Awareness Festival held October 25 and 26, 2007, in Anderson, MO. The goal of the festival was to teach and inspire watershed stewardship. Fifth graders learned about environmental awareness and how water quality affects everyone locally and nationally, as well as various components of a watershed and how they all function effectively together. The festival was sponsored by The Elk River Watershed Improvement Association, University of Missouri Extension Service, Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missouri Stream Team, McDonald County FFA Chapter and Natural Resources Conservation Service.
